OLLI Class – September 2016 Humboldt State University
PAPER ARTS: Eye Catching Surface Designs on Paper
I will be teaching my first OLLI class this Fall 2016 and hope you will want to join me.
We will be creating original designs on paper to be used for Book Arts, Collage, Cards and Assemblages. In creating these designs we will use a variety of mediums and tools and be guided through the creative experience.
When: September 13, 2016 from 10:00 to 1:00
Where: We will be working at my home so we can get messy and I will have all my supplies. When you sign up you will be sent my address and directions
Materials List: Please bring the following only if you have them!
- scissors
- glue stick
- old newspapers
- apron
- gloves-unless you don’t care about getting paint on your hands
- paper towels or baby wipes
- foam brushes
- soft rubber brayer
- acrylic paint with flip top
Class Outline:
Color theory–to help us understand color and why we like some color combinations and not others.
Surface Designs:
Crayon Rubbings
Embossing plates
Wrinkled paper
Sponge painting
Scribble and paint
Ink Circles
Tissue Paper
This is just the beginning for surface designs. There are, oh, so many techniques to try and we will talk about what comes next. Hope to see you in September!
